Trade Counter Direct.com, a local internet tool company, have much cause for celebration as 2010 draws to a close with business success and national awards recognition.

In spite of the current economic doom and gloom, in the last 12 months Trade Counter Direct.com have launched an updated version of their highly successful online tool shop to record sales and traffic.

Alongside sales success, Trade Counter Direct based in Torbay, has more reason to celebrate as two of the company’s Directors have received external recognition for their business acumen.

Director Reid Archer has made the finals of the 2010 Digital Entrepreneur Awards in the category of ‘’.  As the only national awards dedicated to internet entrepreneurialism, they are highly subscribed to with hundreds of entries from industries across the web. With only 5% of entrants reaching the final stage, Trade Counter Direct are incredibly proud of Reid’s achievement. 29 year old, Reid has been with The Select Group of Companies Ltd, Trade Counter Direct’s parent company, for 6 years. He was integral in the launch of the website 5 years ago and in its continued design, development and sales growth. Reid manages a growing team at Trade Counter Direct dedicated to making the company a major player in the online tool market. He is also responsible for managing the company’s close relationship with long term web-developers Createanet who constructed the new site.

Trade Counter Direct.com’s success is not isolated. It appears the internet industry may well be one of the economy’s shining lights in a time of dim prospects. Recently dubbed, “the world’s leading ecommerce nation” in a study from Boston Consulting Group, on behalf of Google, it was disclosed that we Brits spend more money online per capita than anyone else in the world!
